Mobile Electronics Academic Program

The Mobile Electronics program here at Daniel Morgan Technology Center (DMTC) is a two-year program consisting of four semester long courses. These courses are designed to introduce students to the exciting world of electronics with an emphasis on mobile electronics.
The first year (Mobile Electronics A & B) is deisgned as an introductory course into electronics and technology in general. After an introduction into safety practices, we will begin with basic electronics, concentrating on DC and AC circuits. We will also look at basic installation techniques for various types mobile electronics.
The second year (Advanced Mobile Electronics A & B) will delve deeper into Basic Electronics and Mobile Electronics systems. After a review of concepts already covered, we will look at semiconductor devices and digital electronics. We will also look closer at Mobile Electronic circuitry, including audio amplifiers and signal processing. In addition, we will look at more advanced car stereo installation techniques.
Although mobile applications (such as car stereos) are discussed, this is first and foremost an electronics class. Students can also use this training to pursue higher eductaion as an an electronics technician and/or an electrial engineer.
